Tweaking X/Twitter embed parameters

By default, Iframely renders Twitter embeds without including the parent Tweet in replies. This means users will only see the individual reply or quoted Tweet.

Including parent messages in replies for all Twitter embeds

If you want to show the full context of a conversation, you can enable the option to always include parent messages in Twitter replies.

  1. Go to your Iframely settings.
  2. Under "Fine-tune providers", find the Twitter option: "For Twitter, include parent message in user replies."
  3. Check the box and save your changes.

Once enabled, Iframely will automatically include the parent Tweet in all Twitter reply embeds.

Adjusting Twitter parameters for specific URLs

If you want to customize Twitter embed parameters for specific URLs rather than globally, you can use Iframely’s cherry-picking feature. This lets you fine-tune options on a per-URL basis. Here's how you can do this:

  1. Go to iframely.com/try.
  2. Enter your URL and request an embed.
  3. In the form on the left of the preview, select the options that best fit your needs for a specific URL embed.

4. Once ready, hit the "Copy new URL" button - the options you cherry-picked will be included in that new URL.

5. Go to your app, and post that new URL instead of the original for the exact rich media embed.
