How to become an Iframely rich media provider

Becoming an Iframely rich media provider allows you and other users to integrate rich media content seamlessly into websites and applications. Please note that every provider needs to be reviewed and manually enabled by the Iframely team. Follow these steps to become one of our supported providers and ensure your site is optimized for Iframely.

Requirements for becoming a rich media provider

  • You have an active production-ready website.
  • You have working examples of production URLs created by your users.
  • You provide embed codes for manual copy-pasting by end-users.
  • The domain and links you provide are useful for Iframely customers and/or their end-users.

Important note: Iframely does not support one-off sites and links. Your rich media should be useful and accessible to a broader audience to be approved.

Optimize your website for Iframely

To ensure your website is optimized for Iframely, follow the guidelines provided in the Webmasters Documentation. This includes making your site discoverable by Iframely parsers and optimizing meta tags as described here.

If your site is already optimized for standard protocols (Google’s Structured Data, Twitter Cards, Facebook Open Graph, etc.), we’ll parse the data from your existing metadata. However, if you want to specifically be added to Iframely allowlist, follow these steps to allow our bot and make your site is accessible to Iframely. In case Iframely’s robot is blocked on your site, refer to this documentation on how to fix it. You can also use our debugger to check how Iframely sees your page right now.

Adding Iframely protocol support

If your website uses iframes, you’ll need to add support for our own Iframely protocol to ensure smooth integration. Alternatively, if you require HTML-based embeds, make sure to implement oEmbed protocol support.

How to submit a request

  1. Log in to your Iframely account.
  2. Navigate to the bottom of the page.
  3. Go to the Iframely “Suggest a provider” page.
  4. Fill in the form with your details and select the "I am requesting for my own website" option.
  5. Please provide the necessary details about your app or website. Ensure you provide example URLs, embedding documentation and relevant embed codes.
