How to track your Iframely usage
To help you better manage and optimize your usage, Iframely offers two statistic dashboards: the old dashboard and the new usage statistics module (currently in beta). The regular dashboard offers an overview of your hits and API calls, while the new module provides deeper insights with additional data - errors, medium types, request origins and real-time monitoring.
You can track your usage with either dashboard, depending on the level of detail you need. The standard stats dashboard provides a straightforward way to check your monthly usage of hits and API calls. The new usage statistics module offers more detailed insights, including:
- Hits and API calls: a breakdown of how many hits and API calls have been made within a specific timeframe (e.g., the last 24 hours). This helps you keep track of your traffic and API usage.
- Origins: insights into where your requests are coming from, so you can identify which parts of your system are using Iframely the most. It can also help you understand your usage patterns and ensure that only legitimate requests are made. To further protect your API usage, you can also secure your API key, preventing unauthorized access.
- Medium types: a classification of the types of media that are being requested (videos, images, and other rich media content).
- Errors: a summary of any errors encountered during the requests, helping you spot and resolve issues quickly.
The Realtime section in the usage module provides live insights into your usage as it happens. You can monitor individual URLs as they are processed by Iframely, track the number of hits, API calls, and errors occurring, and get a snapshot of recent URLs currently being accessed.
Please note, that live URLs in the Realtime view are decoded only on-demand, according to our privacy policy. We do not store URLs, and they are only visible while an authorized user is actively monitoring the real-time feed.
Additionally, in Iframely, all periods start at the top of the period: billing periods begin at 12:00 AM UTC, hourly periods at 00 minutes, and minute-based periods at 00 seconds.
Both the standard stats dashboard and the new statistics module offer helpful insights into your usage. Together, these tools can help you optimize your plan, track your traffic, and manage your API usage more effectively.
